What Works seeks to enhance the skills of practitioners, providers and policymakers to appraise and apply evidence informed prevention and early intervention approaches to their work with children, young people and their families.
The Department of Children and Youth Affairs recognises the diversity of the workforce serving children, young people and their families. What Works is a coordinated effort to ensure these sectors are equipped and supported to understand and apply prevention and early intervention in the context of their work.
What Works will develop practical, focused supports for professionals through initiatives such as What Works Action Learning Sets and the Network Support Fund. What Works will also highlight opportunities that align with the objectives of the initiative being delivered across the Department of Children and Youth Affairs, other departments and our voluntary and statutory partners.
A What Works Learning Framework which outlines the approach being taken by the initiative to achieve these aims will be published in 2019.
