Economic security and opportunity
The Government recognises that young people want to work and progress in life, and need to be given opportunities to do so. Poverty, sub – standard housing and social exclusion have a significant impact on a person’s life outcomes and efforts must be made to promote social inclusion and reduce inequalities for children, young people and their families.
The aims are that all children and young people are protected from poverty and social exclusion; that they are living in child/youth – friendly sustainable communities, that they have opportunities for ongoing education and training; and that they have pathways for economic participation, entrepreneurship, fulfilling employment and independent living.
